A Heartwarming Visit to Lockwood ARC

Today, we had the privilege of visiting Lockwood ARC, a sanctuary dedicated to providing a forever home to animals in need. The journey to the park was an adventure in itself—two hours of driving through serene mountains, leading to a peaceful haven for rescued wolves, foxes, raccoons, horses, pigs, and more.

Our family was warmly welcomed by Dr. Lorin Lindner, CEO and President of the organization. We learned about their mission to rescue and care for these animals, offering them a second chance at life.

One of the highlights of our visit was learning about Huey, also known as Houston. Huey was the second wolf they adopted when they opened the sanctuary in April 2009. Sadly, he passed away in November 2024. Huey held a special place in their hearts, and we were honored to create a sandcarved black granite heart in his memory.

Rest in Peace, Huey (2009–2024)

Seeing the joy in my kids' eyes as they interacted with the animals and learning about the animals' stories was truly inspiring.

The pet cemetery at Lockwood ARC was another touching moment for us. Each rock in the cemetery represents a beloved animal that has passed away. From a bird's-eye view, the rocks form the image of a wolf howling—a fitting tribute to these majestic creatures. It was an emotional experience that reinforced our commitment to helping animals find love and care.

Our visit to Lockwood ARC was a reminder of the importance of compassion and dedication in making a difference. We're grateful for the opportunity to contribute to their mission and encourage you to donate and support this incredible sanctuary for animals.
